INDIGO MODIFICATION

If you have been a long time reader or client of mine, you probably know that I always suggest eyeshadows which are opposite in spectrum from your eye color. The reason being is that you want your eye color, not your makeup, to be what stands out. So after this week's blog about indigo eyeshadows, I had several emails from readers with light blue or gray eyes and had concerns about the shadows being too close to their eye color. They each wanted to know what I would suggest as an alternative to the indigo shades and my suggestion were/are as follows....

As you can see in the image above of Claire Danes, her eyes are a gorgeous, light gray and her gray/indigo eyeshadows are clearly separated with a black, powder liner. This gives her eyes a beautiful frame. So unless you have in purple contacts, then you can still wear this season's indigos but you have to modify the look with black eye definer such as Florido, applied with Brush #11.
