BLUE EYESHADOW & RED LIPS

Dear Holly,
I am curious as to how to wear blue eyeshadow without having to wear nude lipstick. Any suggestions?

Dear Feelin' Blue,
Blue eyeshadow with nude lips is certainly not for everyone. However, you have to have a certain skin tone, hair, and eye color to pull off your desired look.
 Take Iman (shown left), for example; she has dark brown eyes, dark skin, and light to medium brown hair.
She has what I would call the perfect color combination naturally to wear blue eyeshadow with red lips.
 If this is your coloring, then I suggest using a combination of light to dark blues such as the ones in my 'Austin' Trilogy set (shown above). I would keep your cheek color in the apricot family by using a shade such as 'Joann' (shown left). Apply it to the apples of your cheeks by using Brush #2 (shown right).
 When choosing a lipstick, choose one in the brown-red family. My favorite one is actually 'Unit' (shown left), which is a shiny, mahogany red. Opt for a brown-red overlay such as 'Charmeine' (shown right) Angelspeake Lip Gel.
